This is the author's first book and in 1906 was on the best sellers list. In 1914 it was made into a movie, the first of six attempts to capture the spirit of the book.
Clad in a acetate cover, the book is cleaner than others you might find. All 313 pages are secure to the cover, though the title page and frontispiece show a bit of taping. The name ''Mrs. Geasey'' is penned on the inner cover. No page tears, markings, or dog-ears.
