David Efimovich Arkin (1899-1957) is a Soviet art critic, art historian, historian of architecture, fine and decorative arts, professor at the Moscow Architectural Institute since 1934 and since 1953 professor at the Moscow Higher School of Art and Industry. The book by the famous art historian D.E. Arkin consists of a series of essays devoted to masterpieces of world and domestic art, as well as to individual masters. These essays are mainly extracted from D.E. Arkins books Images of Architecture (1941) and Images of Sculpture (1961).
