The adapter provides an alternative to using standard 2.5 inch hard drives on older computers which only have IDE drive interfaces.
You can insert any SD card into the adapter and then install into any laptop or computer in place of a 2.5 inch IDE hard drive.
The SD to IDE 2.5 Converter is ideal for using on older devices such as laptops where finding replacement hard drives is becoming difficult. It also provides a convenient way of transferring data between old and new computers.
No extra software or drivers are needed as it will be recognised by the computer as if it were a standard IDE hard disk at whatever the capacity of the SD Card is. As the computer believes it is a standard hard drive it is compatible with a wide range of operating systems, such as Windows, MacOS, Linux, DOS, Amiga OS +more.
The adapter draws power directly from the computers 44-Pin IDE interface, so no additional power is required.
