Seller's Description
Pikes Peak Colorado USA Souvenir Teaspoon Tea Spoon 4-9/16" long
I acquired this spoon from an estate sale.
This spoon has a crest that has a picture of a Pikes Peak in Colorado, USA and the words "Pikes Peak Colorado". The rear of the spoon is stamped " WAPW GT. BRITAIN Silver Plated". The spoon bowl is engrave with what looks to be oak tree branches with acorns attached.
The spoon measures 4-9/16 inches (11.5 cm) long X 1 inch (2.4 cm) wide (At the widest part of the spoon bowl) and weighs about 20 gr.
The crest on the spoon is of a larger size than most spoons (1-1/16" X 13/16" (2.7 cm X 2cm)).
The spoon is in good condition with light surface scratches and some tarnish. (See pictures).
From Wikipidia:
Pikes Peak:
Pikes Peak (originally Pike's Peak) is a mountain in the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains within Pike National Forest, 10 mi (16 km) west of Colorado Springs, Colorado, in El Paso County in the United States of America.
Originally called "El Capitán" by Spanish settlers, the mountain was renamed Pike's Peak after Zebulon Pike, Jr., an explorer who led an expedition to the southern Colorado area in 1806. The Arapaho name is heey-otoyoo’ ("long mountain").
At 14,115 feet (4,302 m),[1] it is one of Colorado's 54 fourteeners, mountains that rise more than 14,000 feet (4,300 m) above mean sea level, and rises 8,000 ft (2,400 m) above downtown Colorado Springs. Pikes Peak is a designated National Historic Landmark.
