New Brighton is a seaside resort which was very popular in the mid 19th century. It is located in the town of Wallasey, on the north east tip of the Wirral Peninsula, in Merseyside, England. Administratively it is a ward of the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral. Historically within Cheshire it was part of the County Borough of Wallasey. At the 2001 Census the population of New Brighton stood at 14,450 (6,869 males, 7,581 females).[1]
