Interesting type with Juan Pablo Duarte (1813-1876) and unusual alignment struck by Royal Canadian Mint. On the photo in mirror it is visible that this coin does not have normal coin alignment ↑↓. Pretty nice coin in attractive condition. Due to high rarity till now most probably this coin is not correctly described by many catalogs. For example the Krause publication has KM#80.2 for Canada mint production and represents the 1993 as ↑↓. It describes KM#80.3 with this alignment, minted by private Polish mint Mennica Polska in 1997 only. The Polish Obverse die of the 7 sides has angle at the top, at the same time the Obverse die of Canada coins has angle at the bottom! Thus this coin is neither KM#80.2 no KM#80.3. This very coin was already described in the mintage section of the article en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces836.html of Numista catalog. Due to its high rarity and large demand it was decided to publish images of this very coin in the above mentioned article for easy attribution.
