He was also engaged in the history of zemsky cathedrals, the time of Peter the Great, the colonization of the Russian North and other issues, he was chairman of the Archaeographic Commission (1918-1929), the commission for the publication of the works of A. S. Pushkin (since 1928), the director of the Pushkin House (Institute of Russian Literature AS USSR) (1925-1929), and the Library of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1925-1928).
