Original 1966 Re-Release Russian 22 1/4 inch x 31 1/2 inch Poster for the 1934 Fridrikh Ermler Russian Drama PEASANTS (KRESTYANE) starring Pyotr Aleynikov, Mariya Blyumental-Tamarina, Nikolai Bogolyubov, Ivan Chuvelyov and Vladimir Gardin.
Ermler’s Workshop for Experimental film set as its goal “the creation of revolutionary film”. His ‘Peasants’ was an agitprop film in the purest sense of the word, but the means he used to create it were the means of an artist who relied more on his experience and imagination than on theoretical directives and political brochures.
