Original Russian 34 inch x 25 1/4 inch Poster for the 1961 Ivan Pyryev Comedy OUR COMMON FRIEND (NASH OBSHCHIY DRUG) starring Viktor Avdyushko, Natalie Fateev, Arkady Arkadiev, Catherine Litvineko, and Boris Yurchenko.
Ivan Aleksandrovich Pyryev was a Soviet-Russian film director and screenwriter remembered as the high priest of Stalinist cinema. He was awarded six Stalin Prizes (1941, 1942, 1946, 1946, 1948, 1951), served as Director of the Mosfilm studios (1954–57) and was, for a time, the most influential man in the Soviet motion picture industry.
Poster art by Sergey Ignatievich Datskevich (1919 - 1977). A graduate of Art Schools in Kiev and Kharkov, Datskevich began designing posters in 1949.
The poster is in very good folded condition.
