Seller's Description

Original French 11 7/8 inch x 9 3/8 inch Lobby Card of PAUL BERNARD & PIERRE BRASSEUR in the 1943 Jean Grémillon Drama LUMIERE D’ETE, with a screenplay by Pierre Laroche & Jacques Prévert.

A shimmering glass hotel at the top of a remote Provençal mountain provides the setting for a tragicomic tapestry about an obsessive love pentangle, whose principals range from an artist to a hotel manager to a dam worker. The film was banned from cinemas for the duration of the occupation for its dark portrayal of the hedonistic excesses of the ruling class. Today, it is often singled out as Jean Grémillon’s greatest achievement.

The lobby card is in good condition with some corner pinhole wear.
