Seller's Description
This is a postcard showing the Royal Victoria Pavilion, Ramsgate, Kent. It was posted in London on 15 June 1908.
The sender mentions the Ascot race meeting, and adds "Pillo is due to run this week so put a packet on it". I assume this is a reference to the horse 'Pillo', ridden by jockey Gabriel Torterolo, which won the Gold Vase race (also known as the Queen's Vase) on 16 June 1908 (the day after the card was posted) - this is mentioned on this page.
The card is in fair condition, with some wear to the corners and edges, and some marks.
