"I, Samuel Jackson Cluff, 14 Doughty Street, W.C. Mecklenburgh Square, London, gentleman, do hereby declare the nature of this invention to be as follows: Circular revolving ferules of suitable materila metallic or otherwise which may be tightly on or scre'd on with a fine thread to circular heels on the boots &c or the ferule may be made with a flange on the bottom inside and fastened on by the filling inside..."
