About Hodge Podge Lodge
 
Our History
 
 
Like many others, we began selling a "hodge podge" of our overstocked business inventory and personal items that we no longer needed or wanted on Ebay in 2000, and as our sales grew we realized e-commerce was a great way to sell our products to a much larger market than just our home city!  We discovered there was a strong interest, demand and market niche for the types of unique and hard-to-find items that we are able to offer, and so we expanded on our inventory, and focused our efforts on  selling via the internet. 
 
We opened our Ebay store, HODGE PODGE LODGE in October 2004, under the User ID name of "thelorax00."  Through hard work, dedication, and exceptional customer service we quickly achieved the honor of Power Seller.  For those familiar with Ebay, you will be pleased to know that we also maintained a perfect 100% positive feedback rating (no negatives, neutrals or mutual feedback withdrawls), with over 2500 transactions (in 3 years selling time)--comprised of mostly REPEAT customers!  We are very trustworthy sellers.  What we advertise is EXACTLY what you'll get!  We relocated our business to this venue in 2008, so that we could continue to offer those items that our customers have enjoyed over the years!
 
We enjoy selling those items that we personally enjoy and have in our own "lodge".  You can rest assured that the items we have listed are brand new, first quality, authentic, name brand items that we have procured directly from the manufacturer or primary distributor!  All items we have listed are in our possession and available for immediate shipment.  Please contact us if you are interested in purchasing larger volumes of same or similar items we have listed.   We regularly add new items to our inventory as we continue to search for items we think our customers will enjoy!

Our Business Policies

 
Shipping
 
 
1.  We ALWAYS provide discounted combined shipping rates when you purchase multiple items within a 48 hour time frame, and these items are all being shipped in the same package, to the same address.  We will also utilize the USPS Flat Rate Priority Mail (domestic and international) option wherever possible to save buyers on shipping costs.  Please note that in order to qualify for the Flat Rate shipping option, all items must fit securly within the specially marked USPS Flat Rate box, otherwise items will need to be shipped via an alternate method.  Please contact us for a pre-purchase, combined, shipping quote--especially if you are located outside of the USA!
 
2.  Shipping rates listed for the USA include all US Territories and APO/FPO addresses.  We would be happy to ship items directly to your recipient whether they are in the US or one of the international countries we have listed. Please simply provide us with the shipping details, and we'll take care of the rest!  Please note, that shipping costs MAY be significantly more or less depending on where the item(s) are being shipped to.  While we do offer USPS First Class Mail International rates, please be aware that this service may extend transit times considerably.
 
3.  If you would like your item(s) shipped expeditiously, alternate express shipping services are available upon request.

Handling & Insurance


We do not require insurance on inexpensive, sturdy items, but do require it on all fragile (glass), easily breakable/unstable, and expensive items (over $50.00 USD). We always include tracking and/or delivery or signature confirmation with every package.  Such tracking information will be sent to you electronically via the shippng carrier/service you have selected.  If automatic insurance indemnity is included in the cost of shipping, we will wave the extra cost of insurance.  Buyers are charged ACTUAL postage and insurance rates.  We add no more than a $1.00 USD flat fee to the actual shipping cost on each PACKAGE to cover the cost of shipping and packing materials.

Payment 
 
  • Buyers may pay for their purchases using a credit/debit card securely via PayPal, Google Checkout, or via a Postal Money Order.  Use of PayPal or Google Checkout is completely FREE for buyers!
  • If you have purchased multiple items/quantities, or your purchases have qualified for a special promotion or discount, please wait until we have sent you an invoice that reflects the discount/promotion before making your payment.
  • Payment is due within 7 days of End Of Auction (EOA) or Buy It Now (BIN) date, if paying via PayPal or Google Checkout. 
  • Payment is due within 10 days, for buyers located in the USA, paying via United States Postal Service Money Order.
  • Payment is due within 14 days, for international buyers paying with an International Money Order. 
  • Please inform us of your intent to pay via a Money Order within 3 days of EOA/BIN, so that we can have your package ready for shipment when it arrives.  We recommend that all buyers send their Money Orders via a trackable shipping method.
  • Please contact us within 3 days of EOA/BIN date if you are having difficulty meeting our payment requirements.
 
 
Transit Times
 
 
While we cannot be responsible for shipping carrier transit times, we CAN promise you that your purchases will be in the mail by the next business day, upon receipt of cleared payment, via the selected service/carrier.   We always use "Track and Confirm" to monitor the progress of shipments, and will provide that information to you via USPS email notifications.  Generally packages shipped via Priority Mail are received 2-3 days after being shipped within the USA (some remote locations and/or territories and APO/FPO address can expect to take longer), and international Priority Mail shipments have been generally received within 14 business days following date of shipment. 
 
Obviously transit times can increase significantly during peak shipping seasons, like Christmastime, so if you need to receive an item in time for a special occassion/event, we recommend placing and paying for your order earlier than originally planned, or upgrading to a faster shipping service.
 
 
Return Policy
 
We strive to make sure our customers are satisfied with their purchase(s), and we understand that sometimes this is not always possible, which is why we have adopted the following policies:
 
Damages
 
If your item arrives damaged, whether it be obvious from the shipping container, the damage is audible, or upon opening your package, we ask that you contact us IMMEDIATELY via the Ask Seller A Question link to let us know.
 
  • Please describe in detail what is wrong with the item(s)
  • If we are not certain of the damage as described, or it is dificult to describe, we may ask that you take a digital photograph of the damage(s), and email it to us, so that we may see for ourselves.
  • If we determine that the damage is indeed legitimate, you will be given the choice of either receiving a full refund plus shipping costs, or if an identical  item or suitable replacement is available we will send it to you. 
 
 Not As Described
 
If you feel an error has been made in your order, please contact us immediately upon receipt of your package, via the Ask Seller A Question link, and let us know where you feel the error has been made.  We will work with you to identify the problem, and make every effort to correct the mistake as necessary, including refunding the purchase price and/or shipping cost.  We may ask that you send the item(s) back to us, in which you will be reimbursed.  If we request that you return the item(s), we ask that you do so within 3 business days.
 
If we determine that the error is not due to our mistake, and you wish to return the item, you may do so at your expense (you will not be refunded for the original or retunr shipping costs).  Upon receipt of the returned item, we will inspect it to be certain it is indeed the exact same item we shipped to you, and that it is in the same condition as described.  If the item is not the same one we sent to you, arrives damaged, or is unsaleable as received by us, a refund will not be given.  We use a unoticeable special marking agent on all of the products we sell that can only be detected by our marking equipment.  This is to protect us in the event an item is switched for an identical, lesser quality item (ie: an item that has been used, altered, or counterfeited), and returned for a refund, and in no way affects the appearance, useability or value of the item(s).  
 
 No Longer Want Item(s)
 
Should you decide after completing your transaction you no longer want the item(s) purchased from us, please adhere to the following:
 
  • If the item(s) have NOT been paid for, please contact us immediately so that we may cancel the order before shipping it.
  • If the item(s) HAVE been paid for, please contact us immediately, as we always ship our items the next business day.  Once a shipping label has been paid for we will be unable to give a refund.
  • If the item(s) have already shipped, upon receipt of the package,check the return address for "Ebid/Hodge Podge Lodge" so you know it is from us.  DO NOT OPEN THE PACKAGE!  Mark the OUTSIDE of the box "Refuse Return To Sender" and bring the package to your post office, or give to your carrier.  Upon our receipt of the package, we will issue a refund, minus the cost of shipping.  You MUST mail the package within 3 business days of package receipt, otherwise we will not be granted a refund of the purchase price.
