IMO they should be at the bottom of the page rather than cutting into the flow of a sellers listing.
Actually, most pages already have ads at the bottom so this way they can fit two ads on the page. They could even get three if they put one on the side. It doesn't seem to matter to eBid what they are selling. I've pretty much made my decision regarding my response to the situation. It's totally up to others to make their own.

The ads at the bottom of the page have been there as long as I can remember.
I agree the new ads would be better placed alongside those as long as they are not competing ads.

I disagree with the remark - It doesn't seem to matter to eBid what they are selling

I once reported some choice ads that popped up now & then at the bottom of the pages.
The guys dealt with them quickly.

Yes the guys do deal with the objectionable ones quickly once reported. I'm not sure they shouldn't have a way to block them from ever being posted to the site in the first place.

I meant that they don't seem to be concerned about whether or not the ad is for similar merchandise as the seller whose listing it is placed on.

The advert is meant to be similar if possible, as explained earlier in this thread.

I thought that was how these ads work.

They appear based on content more than anything.

I have similar ads on my blogs...they appear to pick up on text ....I saw ads here for 'Bad Idea' just after someone posted that they thought the ads were a bad idea..lol

When I'm browsing, I open a window with a message to support and I cut and paste each unsuitable/competing ad url into it. I'm adopting the "make it less work to do as I want" approach. If having the ads in the middle results in hundreds of complaining emails, maybe they will be removed. If we just complain on here, it makes no work for eBid so they have no incentive to change.

Therein lies the problem. Placing competitor ads within the store listings of their sellers. I don't see ads for sellers to sell on eBay, eCrater, Amazon or any other site front and center on the eBid homepage. Did I just miss it?

Even down to advertising the Brands own web site concerning the item you are selling
e.g if a ebid is selling a topshop top its okay to have the topshop advertising in your listing?
