I think that applies to learning most languages Bill.
I can understand the written word in Spanish and French far better than I can speak it, although I have been complimented on my efforts to speak Spanish when abroad!

I hardly get time to read a book, but I am about one third of the way through reading 'The Treatment' by Mo Hayder.
To be honest, I would rather re- read all my Enid Blyton books!
(I also love to solve a really difficult Sudoku puzzle ... I'm an addict!)
