Those people who think they know everything are a great annoyance to those of us who do.

Huh?
Whats does it say about a person?
Feedback is not mandatory.
Feedback is not part of a transaction.
A buyer pays for an item - and gets the item.
A seller gets paid for an item - and sends the item.
End of transaction.
Feedback is purely voluntary.
If someone doesnt want to leave it - then fair enough.
....pray tell...you're on a roll...what exactly does it say?
I for one do not agree with your 'slant on things'...but each to his own...
...yes, the site belongs to Ebid..it is a venue...the fact is as I said earlier in the thread...when I paid my fee this particular 'rule'
was not in place..it is a recent addition.
...not one that as been welcomed by many I might add...if you want to 'hassle' your buyer's ...hey, go for it...I do not!
...so shouldn't we all be given the option to conduct our selling as we see fit...
.... the email I received was entitled 'FEEDBACK REQUIRED'...this seems a little more urgent than a request...
...either way...thank you for your input.
Sending reminders falls into the psychological pattern "I'm OK, you are not OK". Not the way to win hearts and minds.
As a seller I did receive one of these 'reminders' - in fact I received 2 (for the 1 sale) within 10 seconds of each other less than 5 minutes after the buyer paid
Because I know that eBid had brought the reminders in (and the fact that the buyer and I had already corresponded on another issue via AAL) I 'assumed' that it was eBid that sent it and therefore didn't take umbridge with the buyer over the wording or the fact that there were 2.
The heading is 'Feedback Required' and the email is worded that the buyer - not eBid is 'requesting feedback'. I 'assume' that the ones sent to the buyers are of a similar vein
If I didn't come here and read the boards I would not have been so 'clued up'

I believe that the auto-reminders sent are exactly the same as if a manual nudge had been done by the seller. Thus:

Note that "Xyz has requested" - I believe this to be the wording on the reminders we can't stop, but I'll be happy to be corrected.
...I really do not see what the wording of the email has to do with it...which is why I did bother to copy and paste....
...the receiver of the email is under the impression that the seller/buyer has requested feedback...when in fact this is not the case...unless as Kirstrich quite rightly pointed out...you frequent these forums....
