About Maxine and her Bookshop
After being a successful online hobby seller for several years, I decided to take things one step further and became a registered company in 2007. I am now self employed and work full time surrounded (quite literally) by what I really love: Books.
Based in Bristol in the UK, we obtain books (and other items) that are looking for a home and try to find those that would like to enjoy and take care of them. This of course is a very useful way to recycle!
We also sell on Amazon, Alibris, Biblio, Green Metropolis, Priceminister, and Abe Books.
We sell mainly used, second hand books but also have rare books, out of print books and textbooks. We add new books regularly but if you can't find what you are looking for, please contact us and we will try to find it for you.

Shows some signs of wear and is no longer fresh. Attractive. |
| Good (G) |
The average used book with all pages present. Books with cocked spine, torn or missing dust jackets, can fall into this category. |
| Acceptable (A) |
Obviously well-worn and handled but no text pages are missing, however, it may be without endpapers or a title page. Books with loose bindings, highlighting can fall into this category.There might be markings, but they do not interfere with readability. |

I am happy to offer shipping discounts for multiple items bought at the same time.
Goods are dispatched within 2 working days of payment having cleared.
We post daily Monday to Friday (except on UK Bank Holidays).
If for any reason you are not happy with your item, please send it back in the same condition within one week and we will give you a full refund. You can return it free of charge by using the same envelope marked "return to sender". Otherwise the postage charges for returning the item are borne by you.
