Seller's Description

This listing is for 3 little books each measures 5" X 3 1/2"., each are edited by E. Haldeman-Julius of Haldeman-Julius Company Girard Kansas

1. Proverbs of Arabia, Little Blue Book No 121 Copyright 1924, 32 numbered pages.

Some of the Proverbs are: "The crown of a good disposition is humility".; "If the wind blows it enters at every crevice".; "The eyes are of little use if the mind is blind".; "Eat whatever thou likest, but dress as others do". These are just a few of the wonderful quotes and it was hard to quit typing.

The front and back are detached and you can see in the picture the front is torn. All of the pages are there but are brittle.

2. Proverbs of France, Little Blue Book No. 114. It is one of the Ten Cent Pocket Series, Copyright 1922. There are 54 numbered pages of quotes and 7 pages listing other ten cent books.

Some of the Proverbs are: "Nowadays whatever is not worth saying is sung"; "It costs a good deal to die in Paris"; "Fear of one evil oft leads to a worse"; "A warmed up dinner was never worth eating"; "A man of straw is worth a woman of gold"; "A fool always finds a bigger fool to praise him".

This wonderful little book is in fair to good condition, as you can see in the picture there is some damage on the cover from moisture but that does NOT carry through to the inside. There are a few pages turned down and no writing except the number 114 in pencil on the front.

3. A Guide to Frances Bacon Little Blue Book No. 443. It is one of the Pocket Series, Copyright 1923. There are 91 numbered pages dedicated to Francis Bacon and 5 pages listing other books in the Pocket Series.

Contents: I. From Aristotle to the Renaissance; II. The Political Career of Francis Bacon; III. The Essays; IV. The Greatest Re-construction. 1. The Advancement of Learning. 2. The New Organon. 3. The Utopia of Science; V. Criticism; VI. Epilogue.

This is a wonderful little book that is in fair to good condition, as you can see in the picture there is some damage on the cover from moisture but that carrys through to some of the inside pages but it does NOT hinder the reading. There are a few pages turned down and no writing except the number 443 in pencil on the front.
