Copper Cigarette Lighter ca. 1920 to 1942
Copper medallion style cigarette lighter.
This is in excellent condition. No signs of wear, although it has darkened from age.
1½ inches diameter, ¼ thick.
Most of the copper has a dark patina. The high spots are still shiny in some places. The copper band circling it is still very bright.
Needs a new flint. The wick is intact and looks new, except where someone sparked it once; there's a small brown spot on the tip.
The front has a lion rampant coat of arms inside a wreath, with the date "1650" at the bottom
The back has the wreath with a blank center, possibly intended to leave room for a monogram
The single word "Japan" is engraved on the side, used on items imprted before World War II
The metal tip is used to pull this open, and has a one-eighth inch hole for a chain
The shipping charge includes insurance
