Welcome to Weardale Electronics (formerly Weardale Electrics)
Hi! My name is Steve and I own and run Weardale Electronics.
I operate from home (a titchy GF flat!) in Spennymoor, Co Durham. I am partially disabled with arthritis and am a Type 2 diabetic which does give me problems sometimes. I have just turned 57yo but some mornings I feel like a 77 year old!
I got interested in Electronics at an early age messing about with old valve TV's etc until me dad kicked me out of the garden shed because he couldn't get in there because of my "collection"! Since starting work as a 17yo in a grubby factory, degreasing ammunition boxes I have worked in several situations.
I joined the Royal Air Force in 1978 and after basic and trade training was put to work operating and repairing "computers" and crypto gear. After leaving, I had a few years selling AM CB radios and electrical equipment on market stalls! Such fun!
I also spent a lot of years as a Self Employed Electrician, rewiring houses, mainly in Darlington.
Since I was 14 I have been a DJ, vinyl on the "Wheels of Steel" Mobile,Clubs and Radio and hopefully soon back running an Internet Radio Station. I also worked in a Disco shop selling/repairing the gear (amps, lighting etc) doing installations in clubs etc I also used to design and manufacture disco/group equipment. Also made custom leads, wire harnesses etc.
In the nineties I owned and ran 2 computer shops, making and selling PC's etc as well as teaching people how to use them.
Now, I run Weardale Electronics!
I sell top quality electronic components, computer bits, electrical parts and lots more at knockdown prices! Most of the items I sell are sourced from UK wholesalers as well as some from Italy and China. Some items are surplus or "end of line". Help and advice is available from me before you make a purchase, although I don't profess to knowing everything!
All items are mail order only (Visitors are strictly by appointment only) and will be shipped to you via Royal Mail Second Class post or courier for larger orders. I will ship to most places in the world with the exception of a few countries.
RETURNS - Any item that is defective can be returned for either a replacement item or a full refund (less postage and packing charges) within 7 days of purchase. I do not sell goods on approval but if you have changed your mind for whatever reason, return the item for a refund (less p+p charges and 20% restocking fee). Custom made leads are not returnable.All leads are fully tested before dispatch. Damaged deliveries upon receipt will be claimed for via either Royal Mail or Couriers. Proof required.
In all cases please contact me first before returning item(s).
All items come with a 12 month warranty against faulty workmanship or defective parts.
