You are looking at an antique, vintage, large coal scuttle/bucket. The body is made from brass, the handle I think is made from copper and the handle attachments and handle looks like bronze. This is an original coal scuttle, one that was actually used for coal and not a modern reproduction used for decoration.

I have tried to determine the age of this and based on identical coal scuttles found online, the earliest date it seems to be is the late Victorian period (1880's - 1900) or early 1900's. Please Note that I am not an expert in these matters so this my best guesstimate based on other peoples adverts across the internet.

Was found in the shed during the clean out. Since then, I have cleaned and polished it as best I could in my limited time. Please see the advert pictures.

Now needs a new home. In excellent physical condition so I am sure it could continue its duty as a coal scuttle. Would also made a great decoration or vase/mobile flowerbed for flowers and plants. One could easily see this given to someone as a gift full of winter flowers.
