Some Information About philately173
Welcome to philately173.
Another eBay convert. I've been running the business for the past ten years or so with customers and friends in over sixty countries worldwide. I guess that I was destined to be involved in philately somehow as I live in an old village post office! I've also been published in the 'Stamp Magazine' on several occassions.
My favourite find to date has been a Queen Victoria 1d Red Used Plate 225 hidden in a glory box of items purchased from a local auction, now tucked away for future generations.
I try to give as honest a description as possible and hope that my auctions cater for all budgets. I tend to ignore catalogue values and price at a level that I think is reasonable and fair.
I am not a fan of postage labels and my items are always sent using stamps, old fashioned perhaps, but I always thought that stamps and postmarks were at the heart of philately.
Items posted within the UK are always sent via 1st class recorded delivery to try to ensure safe arrival. I only charge for one lot of postage no matter how many things people buy. Anything going overseas is backed up by a certificate of posting.
I am pleased to answer any questions that you may have and would be more than happy to give any advice that you may need.
