Some Information About classicvinyl

Giving you a little more insight into the seller.
I grade all my records for sale using the goldmine scale and most the time I grade them lower than they actually are so that no-one is dissapointed. The grading is done visually as I don't have the time to play every A / B side track listing. All records are cleaned before shipping with high quality record cleaner.

Records Grading System
Before buying a particular record you should look at the grades that we give to the sleeve and the media. We do this to make sure you get what you want in the condition you expect. The grading is shown below.

Mint (M)

Vinyl
Absolutely perfect in every way. Certainly never been played, possibly even still sealed.

Sleeve
The sleeve is absolutely perfect. It would be like you just got it home from a shop.

Near Mint (NM or M-)

Vinyl
The record will be in near perfect condition with no visible scratches or marks. The centre hole will be perfectly roundes and no visible signs of the record being played. The record will play perfectly.

Sleeve
The Sleeve should be almost perfect. It may show slight handling but there will be no folds, creases, tears or label residue.

Very Good Plus (VG+)

Vinyl
A Very Good Plus record will show some signs that it was played and otherwise handled by a previous owner who has taken good care of it. The record surface may show some signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect the actual quality of the music when played. The label may have some ring wear or discoloration but nothing bad.

Sleeve
Picture sleeves and LP inner sleeves will have some slight wear, lightly turned up corners, or a slight seam split. An LP cover may have slight signs of wear also and may be marred by a cut-out hole, indentation or corner indicating it was taken out of print and sold at a discount.

Very Good (VG)

Vinyl
Surface noise will be evident upon playing, especially in soft passages and during a song's intro and fade, but will not overpower the music otherwise. Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as with light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound. Labels may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached.

Sleeve
The sleeve will have many folds or creases, pronounced ringwear, writing, small tears, small seam split, label residue but not all these at once

Good (G), Good Plus (G+)

Vinyl
The record will significant surface noise and scratches and visible groove wear but will still play without skipping.

Sleeve
A cover or sleeve will have seam splits, especially at the bottom or on the spine. Tape, writing, ring wear or other defects will start to overwhelm the sleeve.

Poor (P), Fair (F)

Vinyl

The record is cracked, badly warped, and won't play through without skipping or repeating.

Sleeve
The picture sleeve is water damaged, split on all three seams and heavily marred by wear and writing. The LP cover barely keeps the LP inside it. Inner sleeves are fully seam split, crinkled, and written upon.
