This is undoubtedly a worthy endeavor and I commend them for it. However, this being an eCommerce site, I fail to see the value of the effort promoting it as much as it is. Of course, I suppose that most of the promotion is done here on the boards and among the different organizations the fund raising goes to assist.

as i said previously the YDC merits clearly elude you, if you had bothered to check a lot of the YDCs have thousands of listings in a ecommerce capacity, they do more for the site than you ever will.

i have seen before the hounding of ebid to implement changes, which they duly brought forward before time, which cost them more time and every one else more time because they implemented before time,

ebid have my full support to implement these new changes when there good and ready.
I wasn't aware that IT reasoning was the everyday reasoning used by most businesses. You are correct that a seller doesn't have control over the actions of the shipping company. However, the seller does bear the brunt of customer's displeasure if the shipping company, chosen by the seller, fails to meet deadlines that they have set. More than one business has fallen by the wayside when their promises to the customer have gone unfulfilled. Once a company develops a reputation for not delivering on its promises to its customers, it has an extremely hard climb to earn back the esteem of its customers.

I do agree that a company should not implement changes that are not tested and ready, but also think that to announce or imply that such changes are going to be implemented on a particular date and then consistently fail to meet that self-imposed deadline should be avoided.

Perhaps, Sid, but then I'm not here to do anything for the site. I'm here merely as a customer of the site. I consider it a business and not a charity for me to support.

i dont know of any seller who states a item will be delivered on a day, i do know sellers who state they will ship within a time period after payment, do you see were your failing yourself , start to think about your answers.

Other auction sites seem to be having problems at least partly because of rushing.
I totally agree that the site needs to get it right, but I question how long and how many missed announced deadlines are to go by before things get done. Can we expect working changes to the site next week, month, year or when?!
