Thread: Adding Images in HTML

  1. #1

    Default Adding Images in HTML

I am trying to add an image into my HTML listing. The image is on my hard disk. I can't work out what I have to put as the image source. I am on Linux Mint. Can anybody help? Thanks

First, great choice. I use Linux Mint myself, so much better than Windows 11.

You shouldn't attempt to reference in the HTML your image on your hard disk. It's possible to do it and then display correctly on your own pc, but how about when other users view your listing? How will they get past your router and access your pc? Of course you wouldn't want them to and they can't.

You have to put the image somewhere online. There are lots of other sites you could put it, but an obvious place is to use My Gallery on ebid. Upload your image to My Gallery, then it will give you a URL for that image and your can use that in your HTML.
