Thread: Viewing sold items

  1. #1

    Default Viewing sold items

I know this has been covered on other threads, but I feel it should be covered again. I have always used the option of looking up sold items, or completed auctions for reference, mainly for prices if I am not sure. Somebody mentioned that the management didn't want people to see how many items actually DIDN'T sell, which is understandable. SO, why not have the option of viewing past sales, or completed auctions and have ones that didn't sell either not show or have a separate option for viewing those. Completed and sold items searches is a valuable tool.

While I agree, so often nothing like what anyone of us is listing has sold recently. With your items, you will almost certainly be driving the traffic here by using social media and the like.

    .

Recently sold here on eBid - by a seller in the US - searching closed listings looks like this person is actually doing rather well.....
as you can see, one pair sold at over £300....

edit: this apparently successful seller has over 6,500 pairs of glasses frames listed, all RUS, under the category Health & Beauty, has no Store or Featured Listings and has never posted on Forum.....

Thanks for finding this, this seems interesting so the top 2 glass listings, did you have to open the listing link to see they sold or did the sale details show up on the right like the BIN icon and price as in the 3rd pair listing ?
would be awesome if sold listings were easily found when you use the search completed listings function

    You are welcome.
Had to open the listing links to see if they sold and they all had.... but as it is a niche market it was an easy task to get this information.

edit: my screenshot originally left out prices ...

Thanks Cheaver. I can confirm this too. This does work - If you do a search on comics in completed listings and it shows the Buy It Now icon below or beside the price then this listing most likely has ended with a sale. Great info and thanks again.

Thanks. Just how do you find what has sold? I do believe new designer glasses sell well, but hopefully some of my big chunky retro's will start selling here. They are doing pretty well on another site.

O.K., was able to find them, but only if closed. If there are multiples and the listing is still open, I don't think they show. I know my pair of BUM sunglasses I sold didn't show up.
I wish there was an easier way.

    Hi
I'm with you on this subject , I also like to check out the sold items for a reference , I was thinking of getting more involved with EBID
alongside my other E sale site but everything on here seems so awkward . I am having second thoughts now

It is different from Bay and others. Each has its pros and cons. There isn't a way to see very many of the closed items - only place is on the main page tabs along with Buddy Auctions, Popular, Closing....etc. Only shows a small selection. Too bad, as it would be really helpful info to have.

Certainly less expensive here...…...lower fees, fees not taken on the postage, good customer support. Not sure it is more awkward, tho perhaps it is. Once you get used to it, it is pretty smooth.
    Ta-Ta for now!

Well, it's not that it's awkward, it's that the other E sales site has dominated the market for the last 20 years or so, and everything that doesn't work like it does there seems strange, and even unnatural when you finally leave it for something else. It may take some time, but you'll get used to it.
