Thread: Social Media Help Please..

  1. #1

    Default Social Media Help Please..

I do not use any social media groups, but wonder if it is possible to join Facebook just to promote my listings?

If so, how would I do this please?

I don't think you can prevent yourself from doing anything else but if you join facebook you need accept no friend requests (though that would limit the visibility of your listing promotions).

You can switch off emails and notifications, reducing the noise from facebook.

If you join, ask to join this group https://www.facebook.com/groups/6557656454/

You can post one listing per day there.

Ahhh, thanks,Madelaine, but I thought it was something along the lines of Pinterest where you could have your own board.

Just shows how out of touch I am with these things

I did pinterest for a bit but I don't think it made a scrap of difference. Tried Flickr as well... ditto.... Facebook yields the odd sale.

I don't use Twitter much. Does anyone find that helps?

I use Pinterest as my main posting forum. I have been experiencing problems with facebook since they updated their privacy rules recently. They keep flagging my ebid links as spam on a regular basis. Even ones I have posted on the ebid group and my own personal group for my old record shop. Last time they did it I replied they are not spam and all were re-instated. Never sure how many sales come from these sources or from google.

The reason I asked is because I have had quite a few items stagnating on the river so may try them on here instead.
It would seem that the social media sites are not very instrumental in increasing sales so I shall just list them here and wait patiently

    Thanks everyone.

I haven't been using Google + groups much this summer. I'll think about posting eBid items over there again and posting in groups. Also, I think that I'll look at Pinterest and that Facebook group (I'm a member of it.). Other than that, I don't want to tweet a lot about listings or post on my Facebook page about eBid too much. A bit maybe, but not too much.

    Cheers.

Just started again with my eBid posts

I also use Pinterest but to be honest - and as books says - "Never sure how many sales come from these sources or from google."

I'm now having the same problem with my listings on FB getting flagged as spam as well, but only if I use the FB share button from my listings. I have no problems if I manually post my listings and upload an image with description and put a link to eBid.
