I arrived here on the back of a 24 hour special offer - £14.99 LIFETIME SELLER!!!

Now that is the way to attract sellers.

That's what I fear may be happening with greedBay. The share price is slumping and they seem to be resorting to all kinds of trickery, including offering different sellers different deals, ostensibly the same as they had the previous month but with fees hiked in the small print.

Wow, didn't know it had ever been below 49.99. There'll now be people visiting every day in hopes!

This was courtesy of a regular on the old (and sadly missed) Books Board on fleebay. She posted the offer long enough for quite a few of us to see.

Er, yes, me too, but I don't like to brag about that! I meant I didn't know the 49.99 ever dropped down subsequently.

Obviously the summer of 2003 was the summer of smart joiners. Though I'm still embarrassed that I've listed/sold so little.

I don't comment on the cost of joining for exactly that reason. What I do comment on is the fact that each time eBid have moved the goalposts (something they have done very seldom), they have given us fair notice and the opportunity to upgrade for free. This was Tazbar's big mistake - they changed the charging structure with only a very small notice in the wrong place for anyone to find it.

Not bragging - just pointing out that eBid have had promotional offers in the past and now, with so many disgruntled feebay sellers, it may be a good time to do so again.
