Default courier promotion £2.79 up to 5kg

Surprised no one has mentioned this. For the next week Myhermes instore label printing service is just £2.79 for any parcel 0 to 5kg in weight. Only £20 compensation though, no upgrade possible. You have to use the instore label machine to get this price. I know some people don't like Hermes but I've personally never had a problem using them.

The only problem I have is that I need to be driven to the nearest place I can take the parcel. So I have to stick to having it collected. But I can live with that

To do this you would have to take an unsealed parcel, scissors and selotape/parcel tape as when the address label prints, it also prints an enclosure label for your parcel [it does at home]
In my local parcel shop which is a Costcutter/petrol filling station [which is VERY busy] there is no counter space to seal your parcel up, etc.

Think I'll stick to printing my labels at home - then I won't get myself into a tizz

Meebo, I use myhermes all the time and have never had to insert a label inside the parcel, neither does it print one. I book via Shutl (on the other site) and Myhermes site direct. I think Parcel2go might mention doing this but it's not compulsory. It's merely for returning parcels if there is a problem, just make sure your return address is clearly marked on the parcel, or you could just print your own return address on a piece of paper and pop that in the parcel. I'm quite lucky where I live as there are around 10 parcel shops, several in walking distance, they've started using Co-ops now so are becoming much more accessible.

The promotion has ended, however now they've started £2.95 for up to 5kg print instore which is still half the price of printing at home. For anyone who hasn't used the instore machine before it's easy. You just type in recipients name, address, own email for confirmation, that's it no other info required, pay by credit card, sticky label comes out of machine, stick on parcel. Make sure return address is written on parcel.

Sadly, the nearest shop is too far away, so no bargain for me

If you're using your local Post Office, look on the bright side. Unless we keep using our village post offices they'll be closed.

I've recently discovered this service and was about to post about it but you beat me to it MJAUCTIONS. I'm not a huge fan of Hermes, however this Instore service is certainly cost-effective when you realise a 2-5Kg parcel tracked & signed via Royal Mail costs £14.75.
