Default Buyer wants to talk privately

I received this message from a prospective buyer:

Can you give me a telephone number so we can whatsapp please? Thanks!
I feel very reluctant to do this, especially as the reply would appear for all to see on one of my auctions.
    Am I being too cautious?

I don't think you are being too cautious. I would not give my phone number in these circumstances especially as it would show on all your auctions.

I wouldn't give my phone number to a prospective buyer, even if it meant losing a sale!
My question would be - what's wrong with the existing eBid message system?
Bill, you have to ask yourself - Do you want people ringing all the time with endless stoopid questions???
I certainly don't want public access to my number on a listing (or anywhere else)

They could talk privately through a PM. I don't like that all eBid questions are public so I sometimes answer the question with --- please contact me with a private message through the forum.

I certainly would not entertan using "whatsapp" ! Annie's right - use P.M. If the customer does not want this then something else is afoot....Anyway you have not the time to talk..
