When there items appear in the Closing Items and New Items lists they are seen by many potential new buyers who then go away with the impression that all items on eBid are over priced. I just wish the "free"postage was outlawed on eBid. There is no need for it here.
Exactly that's what I was thinking, I think it is a bad Idea having import from greed bay. Think in the long run we will have more problems then good things come out of it not only then "free postage" thing.

The fees, the cost of stationery, the postage ... it all has to be paid for somewhere. I've always been unsure of how to charge it out in my listings. If the purchase price of the item includes the expenses involved, people seem to think that the price is inflated. If the shipping cost adds enough to cover the costs, then people seem to think that shipping is inflated.

Sometimes I look at other sellers' listings and I know that they are taking money out of their pockets to ship an item that they've sold. Is it a race to the bottom? Why would they bother? They might as well throw the item in the garbage / recycle bin or donate it to charity. They would be money ahead.

Selling takes a lot of time. The photographs / scans and time to edit the pics, writing the listings, doing the record keeping, filing / storing the item, and then the shipping which involves driving to the post office. Envelopes, labels, printer ink ... and so on.

I wish that people would communicate more. If buyers take the time to tell me what items they want to purchase, I will make a point of charging what it takes me to ship and pay my expenses. No more. At the end of it all, I want to see the purchase price in my account.

Things have really changed over the past two decades. We have all these ways to communicate, but nobody seems to want to take the time. There are lots of ways to ask for a quote or tell the seller about any concerns. Buyers rarely even both with feedback anymore. They can use so many ways to contact a seller, but they won't take the time. Maybe the novelty has worn off. Something has changed / happened. I'm not certain what that is.
