Are you able to access the printer workload page? Clear it? Refresh it?
If driver is installed try switch everything off, put kettle on (for you! lol!) then go back & switch it all back on again....
Is 'puter up to date?

No I haven't because their code list gives the reason as the printer being at the end of its life - which I suspect as it is used every day and it was only cheap when I bought it.

I am leaving it turned off until morning and see if it has righted itself. If not, then I think a new one will be on the cards - probably have enough Nectar points to take care of that

I also had printer problems yesterday. I would like to say it is sorted (I still get an error message) but it is printing

Printer is still dead - totally. So today will be spent looking at reviews and deciding upon a replacement.
