    Default Spam "warning"

    G'day all. - WARNING

Just received a SPAM "question" via the auto email system coming from rubbed out user "pradeepemart" dated 1st Jan 1970.
There is no question appearing in my Q&A Tab/log to answer - yet official email notice from eBid was received!

The notice contains an outside link to register at a "social network" site? - Don't click on the link if you get one of these pieces of spam!

Seems even rubbed out losers can still access the Q&A system somehow!

I've reported this event to support.

I got a spam question from the same person early this morning in the UK but eBid was already on the case and had struck them off this morning and removed what they wrote.

Don't worry about the 1970 date that is just to do with computer languages :-
Why computer time is from January 1 1970?

why its always 1st jan 1970 , Because - '1st January 1970' usually called as "epoch date" is the date when the time started for Unix computers, and that timestamp is marked as '0'. Any time since that date is calculated based on the number of seconds elapsed.

I expect because they removed all the spam today it reverted back to that date. It's nothing to do with old eBid members getting back in, it all happened today.

Thanks. Haven't been on computer much since new year so no spams seen yet, but have been getting numerous phone calls telling me how much my electricity could be cheaper and also free gifts from Woolies and Coles LOL.

Thanks Becky! didn't realise about the 1970 date.

sewmuchtosee - do yourself a favour & get on the "Do Not Call Register" I very rarely get such calls, & if I do, I threaten them with massive fines they can be hit with!
