Thread: Item ID number retain

  1. #1

    Default Item ID number retain

Can we please keep our item ID numbers when listings run out of time and we relist.
This will make our advertising so much easier and less laborious.

Jolly good idea ! I've never understood why they had to change in the first place ? Maybe people could visit my listings from my old Pinterest photos then without being told they have been archived when they hit the visit button !

I so agree and not just Pinterest but from Facebook and other social media as well.

    My thoughts exactly.
I sell on another well known site (famous for handcrafting) which retains the listing ID# when I have to relist and makes my advertising so much easier. Plus the #/item can be documented in my files should I need to use it.

At least I wouldn't have to check all my listings of various avenues of advertising every day to make sure they are live and running.

Giving this a bump because it's a very good suggestion.

If listings retain the same listing number, it might solve the problem with the mysterious duplicate listings, which is still occurring. I don't recall hearing anything from support about what is causing this to happen. They search for duplicates with a title search, which is good but could also search for duplicate listing numbers. It might help them to understand why this is happening and keeping the same listing number just might stop the problem??

It would also be easier when dealing with Support on resolving a listing issue. You would have one number to reference, not two or three if the problem persists long enough to have changed numbers.

Being able to sort items by listing number would be a useful tool for sellers - the lower number being an older listing that you might want to consider reducing the price on, etc.
