All it needs is a localisation of the dictionary to a user's specific country.
i am sure that eBid techies can do it, after all, the German site, French site etc are all in their own languages.

Just out of curiosity, why do y'all like to add a "U" to some words?

    armour

    its how you pronounce it

you can imagine some 13th cent scribes deciding how to name and pronounce armor ,

scribe 1 well my lord says to his surf "bring me my armor boy" northern inflection

scribe 2 well my lord says to his surf " would you mind terrible and pass me my armour, Gilbert" southern inflection

it depends who you are were you are and the antithesis on the last part of the word= inflection

american general "tell the boys to load the armor piercing shells, Mac,

as you have already seen the english are very pompous about spelling and grammar yet we all know exactly what you are meaning and saying , Americanisation of english is very easy to understand personally i dont see the problem, to insist that it must be done the english way, is well il let you decide

But how accurate are the translations. It would be interesting if a German or French speaker could comment

Now I'm curious, Sid. I thought that in your use of the word, serf would be spelled with an "e" and not with a "u" which I thought was the surf on the beach. Interesting!

I remember a World Civ instructor in college that talked about how she had thought about how nice it would be to have lived in the middle ages and be the lady of the castle. You should have seen the look on her face when I mentioned that it was more likely that most of us would have been serfs.

yes em them days it was by birth, in these days its by deception, we have a saying in the uk"by hook or by crook" it originates from the magna carter , the king granted all the people ( serfs) the right to firewood in the kings forests from the track by a hooks length or crooks length , not any more.

    Nice one!

Well, I blame Noah Webster for messing up the English 'English' as it is... but hey ho, back to the point: Many of our categories have a definite American bias which suggests that the 'expert' here might hail from that part of the world... typically blind to the rest of the world just like their leader!
