Default Does Anyone know of a reliable free open-source database?

Hi, I keep track of my listings using an excel spreadsheet, but it grows it is getting a little clunky. I am wondering if a data base may suit my needs better.

I do not have access to Mickysoft's Access software and, having looked that up and the price tag is around £80 (more than I can afford at present. I have tried Apache Open Office, but their system demands a "Java Runtime Environment" or JRE, as they call it. I tried to download this and was blocked from doing so as I already have some Jave products which apparently, conflict with this. I am instructed to remove these to enable the download, but I am fairly certain that none of them are JRE, as I had not heard of it before. I am wondering what other components on my computer may fail if I do this.

Can anyone suggest anything please, I would not mind paying a small fee to upgrade the software, depending on what is on offer.

    Thanks

I use Libre Office, because I'm too poor (and mean) to pay Mr Gates..
It has all the bits that Microsoft Office has, including a database.
    And it's all free.
Don't know about JRE, I'm just a country bumpkin.
You could download and try. https://www.libreoffice.org/
