Red face Is there a free section?

Is there a free to good home section on Ebid.

I have many incidental items that are in good condition but not new that I want to give away if some one wants them. These items are of value, perhaps better than opshop donations level but not quite ask for money, type items. eg Painted Plates with (US)indian themes. Unused Tupperware containers with lids... some not, & so on.

Thanks for your interest in my post.

I don't think it is a good idea at all. Why would anyone regard eBid as a serious selling site if there were to be a section giving things away?
In UK, we have Freecycle or Freegle for this.

I would assume that you would want postage costs paid - so not truly 'Free'. In that case list as a BuyNow to cover the price of the postage (you can't start a listing at a price of 0.00) with free shipping. As Seller+ you can create a Free type listing so no fees are involved.

I have seen, on very rare occasions, the odd item offered free on forums but I agree with Tony that it not something eBid should make a feature of the site.

One other alternative is (depending on the type of item) you could sell it for charity by joining in with the monthly YDC events.

Now that's a good idea lofty.

Crayman the YDC charity auctions run from the 24th - 28th of each month apart from December. This month's nominated charity is Shelterbox ( they have helped victims of the Australian bush fires in the past) but you can also list for other charities. You would be more than welcome to join in the YDC fun and come and pimp your items on the YDC pimp thread. If you have any light items where you can offer free postage, even better, as a lot of sellers are in the U.K. or the USA but we do have one seller that joins in from Australia at the moment so it would be good to have another. Have a look at this thread particularly #15 which gives a link to all the YDC information. https://www.ebid.net/forums/showthre...er-Competition

These are the YDC items that have already been listed for this month which start on the 24th :-

Of course, you could just try listing the items by auction at a low starting bid. While you may see no value in the items that doesn't mean somebody else won't.

    Gumtree has a free section.

Admittedly most of it is brick rubble and old wood, but you also find large items of furniture as well - too good to throw away, but valuable enough to someone
for them to come and collect..

I think Gumtree is regarded as a serious selling site.
