New eBid Store Question

I already have a Store selling magazines, I am now constructing a new Store to sell badges and stickers. But I have some concerns about how to go about this.

Firstly, I want to experiment with store banner design and items listed. If I want to see how this looks, I have to put the store online, but as there are no items ready to list in it, the eBid system closes the store back down again after a short while. Understandable, but inconvenient because I want to show the store design to someone else before it's up and running and I don't want to give them my password. Also, I want to experiment with various listing layouts - combinations of photos and descriptions and also offers such as buy one, get your second one at reduced price - or something similar. Again, to show the same colleague.

Is there any way I can do this, before the listed items are actually ready for sale? I don't want to annoy eBid by continually putting my new store online then offline every hour or so till it's all ready.

Secondly, the items I am selling are badges and buttons with simple phrases like "Free Speech". They're very pretty. I am not sure what category would be most appropriate. Collectables? Anyone any suggestions.

You could try putting a dummy listing into your store in the Whatever's Left > Test Auctions (Deleted Daily) category; that should hold the store open for a day.
