Quite apart from legal or copyright issues, my major worry would be that some DVDs are region locked. So you might sell to a buyer abroad and then get a complaint that they can't play it. It wouldn't be your fault, of course. But it would be hassle you could do without.

Perhaps check which region your country is in (I expect Wikipedia will say) and only advertise those listings within that region?

Thank for that John it is good advice and already in hand - my listings have info about the compatible regions for the disc in bold red, although someone will inevitably miss it. So as soon as I get an approach from anywhere outside of the UK or Europe I will message them with my first contact about that.

Unfortunately, the list on the USPS site has been known to contain some erroneous information in the past.

Ordinarily, I feel that it is best for the importer to know what is and what isn't legal to import into their country. However, as in all things, the seller needs to make an effort when there is any doubt to ascertain the facts.

It is my understanding that knives are not allowed to be shipped into the UK and any NAZI memorabilia bearing the Swastika isn't permitted to be sent to Germany. But I'm sure there are quite a few other items that are banned from import in other countries.
