Showing both the Bid and Buy buttons on the listing so appears the blackball is doing nothing.

I'll wait and see if I get a response from admin - so that I know how they reckon it should work.

Then I'll maybe create a Free test listing and look for a volunteer to be blackballed and follow the bid and buy process all the way through. I don't want to do that on someone's live listing where fees could come into play.

The bidding part is not an issue as you could remove the bid. Not so sure about the Buy part as I think (so long since I was selling) that even if you cancel the sale fees still come into play. Better a free listing where no fees apply.

Had a response from admin that they are investigating but they didn't explain how it was intended to work - which is what I actually asked.

I'll wait for a bit to see if I get a follow up response from them before going further.

Thanks for the assist thus far. I'll probably rope you in later, if you are willing, if I need to prove how the blackball actually functions in use.

Hi,

Blackball will block any buyer on a seller's blacklist when they go to Bid, BuyNow or MaO.

Has someone actually made a full bid, purchase or offer when they were knowingly on the sellers BB list?

If they have then we would need to investigate that straight away, let me know the buyer and seller and listing ID and the time the bid/buynow/offer was saved so that we can take a look.

I have temporarily blackballed the both of you. Could one of you bid on one and buy the other and report back if the blackball kicks in and prevents you completing the action and what messages, if any, are returned?

Not as far as this thread is concerned. I stopped short as I didn't want to incur fees for anyone if it did go through. The Buy option did take me as far as asking for confirmation of the purchase (post #3 above).

I have created a couple of test listings and asked my previous helpers to follow through with a bid and buy to see if and when the block occurs.

We can remove any fees that occur, we can't find any problems at the moment, the error message is kicking in OK under our tests.
