  1. #1

    Default help with thunderbird,

My Emails are not coming through to thunderbird for some reason they are not down loading, i have changed my password on BT servers and then had to change it back because i cant find out how to change the password in thunderbird to try and kick start them again, has anyone any ideas, i keep having to go to BY online server thing to see if there are any messages and it more than a pain in the neck.

Either from the top toolbar or from the 3 black bars top right of your screen:

    Tools/Options/Security/Passwords/Saved Passwords/ShowPasswords/

Click on relevant password and amend/click to save/ Hide Passwords

p.s. I gather from some posts on Faceache this morning that there are problems with btinternet emails - even mine is playing up and I don't use it much anymore.

thanks annie, I will wait till YDC has finishes as i will change the ones in my bt online account first, the message i am getting everytime the email down load is server error, so could even be BT, it has been happening for 2 days, all other ones are okay.

The outlook.com email is the new name for the hotmail and live email systems run by Microsoft. I closed my hotmail account yonks ago, but had to set up an outlook email in order to use Windows10.

BUT Microsoft Office and/or Microsoft operating systems did have/still have a set-up called Microsoft Outlook able to receive emails, diary, set up appointments, etc. Outlook Express was the watered down version for receiving emails up to and including XP.

    Two separate entities.

You could ditch BT & other "nosey" providers totally & use vfemail.
    Settings to use are here.
