    Default Does anyone know...

...what the number next to the YouTube icon on my Android tablet signifies? It only appeared recently and I can find no reference to its meaning.

I would lean towards 'No' as I don't, knowingly, save YouTube videos. The number also doesn't match things such as Subscriptions or Notifications either - or any other count on my YouTube account as far as I can see.

Interesting! YouTube provides me with GB in place of your numbers - unless I switch in my VPN, in which case it goes blank - this on Windows 10, XP, Linux or Android

It's the number of new videos that you might want to watch or new videos from a channel you subscribe to. All of this is based on what you have viewed recently. When you open up Youtube, the bell at the bottom will show the same number of notifications. Most aps will show a number when something new shows up based on what you have watched previously.

As said, I had no notifications (nothing under the bell) and the number didn't match anything I could see - unless it was a total of several different things, which I didn't check for.

Oddly, the number has now vanished after being there for some days. So it seems the way to get rid of it is to query it on eBid forums.

If it reappears I'll try to match it again to something.

    Thanks, all, for your input.
