It's a Bushism. The clue is that Sid isn't an American.

Me: I don't understand why you Americans are so arrogant, you're all dumb as poles. I doubt one person in all of your 51 states has any intelligence.
American: There's only 50 states you idiot!
    Me: What about Pearl Harbour?
American: HAHAHAH Pearl Harbour's not a state.
Me: Well it was in a state when the Japanese had finished with it.

Two Rednecks are sittin' in a boat on the lake fishing and suckin' down beers when all of a sudden Woody says, "I think I'm goin' to divorce my wife - she hasn't spoken to me in over six months."
Bubba slowly sips his beer and says, "You better think it over - women like that are hard to find."

Well I wouldn't be too hard on Sid. The way I understand it, the British Isles weren't in too great a shape until the Japanese attached Pearl Harbor and kick started our full participation in the war.

I suppose it is something of a miracle that we communicate as well as we do considering the vast differences in our common language. This was driven home by Mycroft, one of the mods on the old TAZBAR forums. It seems that my use of the American version of the name for what y'all call a "bum bag" has an entirely different connotation on the UK side of the pond.

That's probably why I tend to ask for clarification of terms I don't quite understand when posting here.

Getting back to the topic of this thread. Despite assurances that Google's requirements wouldn't be an issue, When I go to the FotoTime.com web site sign in page using Google Chrome I get the "NOT SECURE" in front of the web address. While when going to the Snapagogo.com site with the same browser doesn't show the "NOT SECURE" warning, it doesn't show https or http in the address.

When I go to Snapagogo.com using FireFox, clicking on the information icon before the address results in a drop down warning that the site is not secure in red and warns against entering passwords. Not really filling one with confidence when confronted with something like that on the log on page of the site.

Has anyone heard anything about what's going on? Especially with Snapagogo?

imgur is https compliant and someone at customer support over at eBay recommend I switch to them for my third party hosting of my business card image embedded in item descriptions which eBid have not mentioned anything to me about at all given that it is hosted on photobucket which is still on http.

No doubt photobucket will make the change to https and may be in the process of doing so.

I personally will stop using photobucket anyway because it took me 5 minutes to upload one image after logging in the other week for the first time in 2 years due to adverts and their pesky scripts! I decided to delete some photo albums filled with images that I no longer use on eBid or anywhere and you'd think it would take a matter of minutes to delete 16 or so albums but it took over an hour because of the excessive amount of adverts and their failure to load scripts!

I have just been looking at photobuckets options for upgrading to a paid account, I am not doing it, I was just curious about something and I think I have found my answer which is I do not think you will get https support with a free account on photobucket. Even looking at the three options for subscriptions it looks like only the Plus 500 comes with https support at the moment. Yep, of course the most expensive of the three subscriptions.

I just do not believe photobucket is worth using anymore if you have to pay for unlimited bandwidth and have to have a subscription for https support when you can get the latter free from other sites like imgur by the looks of it. Oh well all the more reason to close my photobucket account

Hi, I am reluctantly looking for a photo-host, as from what Gazza has told us images hosted from snapagogo will not be usable on eBid unless hosted in the gallery. The problem is I will want to be putting some images in my terms and conditions and unless I have missed something there is no way of doing that from snapagogo with the current bullying attitude of google.

You mentioned imgur as an alternative, I have not been able to find out much about it. Do you know is it possible to make an account private on there? Also are there any charges? Thanks.

I uploaded my business card image to imgur and embedded it in a listing on FeeBay several days ago to see if I had any issues. There are no issues and everything is working fine.

If anyone decides to use imgur for their hosting for embedded images in item descriptions then take note of the following:

Create your albums and upload your images.

To embed an image in an item description just go to the album and click on an image and then do the right click and copy and then right click and paste into your item description.

This method is the only way imgur allows you to embed images in item descriptions.

If you are editing things over on FeeBay and you get "there was a system problem" just click ok as it will be fine.

imgur has disabled direct hot linking to FeeBay using the links they provide as options. Some cry baby policy of theirs about the sale of goods or something stupid like that. So not sure if that will be the same with eBid, Amazon and other platforms not relevant enough for me to remember their names.

A lot of unnecessary work to be honest because cry babies have to add an unnecessary "s" to site addresses when they could have made everything secure without the requirement to add the "s". But google and all the others do throw their dummies out their prams and have a good cry if they do not get their way
