The amount of the New Card Security Fee was reduced in Feb 2011 by 75% when it is included within a Send Payment. The amount when a standard card upgrade is made is around £1 or 1, we are working on reducing this also.

I renewed mine some time ago, I can't remember how much it was now but I think it was just pence rather than a pound.
I have just registered, the verification amount has been substantially reduced, you now have verify through the card provider's security system. A withdrawal is then made from your account, the email I received mentioned between £0.18 and £0.67 (it was actually 43p).

That payment that you got is encouraging Becky, the only thing holding me back now is finding out which Countries can use PPP, I have looked at every page I can find and could not find a list. Can anyone let me know please?

    1) What is PPPay.com?

PPPay.com is an online payment service that we have teamed up with to offer GBP and Euro Instant and Escrow payment facilities via your debit or credit card. Once an auction has finished, the buyer can use PPPay.com to pay the seller.

it mentions euros above and in another paragraph further down so im assuming any european country that has euros , it does need to be clarified

It would appear by that, Sid, that sellers based in the USA would still not be able to utilize that site since it doesn't deal in our currency.

    taken from there website

    1. Are there any restrictions?
You must have either a valid debit or credit card that receives its statements in either GBP/EUR OR a bank account in GBP/EUR that is accessible via online banking. If your card/bank account is not issued in one of the two currencies then you will not be able to use PPPay.com.

Unfortunately, US banks like to charge an arm and both legs for almost anything.

If I'm not mistaken, I tried to sign up for the site before when I first joined eBid and was informed that US accounts are not eligible, but that was a long time ago. However, it appears that it hasn't changed. Maybe some day.

Why I am keen to find out is that I am bound to get someone asking about that and I will look a little stupid if I have to say I have no idea. Which does not encourage confidence in the payment system from a first time buyer.

Hi - Two new buyers (new to me & the site) have both complained to me about the "secret security fee" part of joining ppp.pay. They say no amount is actually specified, or specified clearly and that they felt uncomfortable with this. I had to actually email them with alt. methods of payment - otherwise they would have canceled the sale. In one case. the customer did try to call ppp, but said they could not get through. Any chance of clarifying the whole "secret security fee" part for the first time buyer - because at the moment this is turning customers away from the site - and my business! Many thanks, Peter
