Thread: Forums Going Wonky??

  1. #1

    Default Forums Going Wonky??

Some of the forum categories are only showing one thread (attach # 1) and some are only showing the Stickys (attach #2). This has happened before and I chalked it up to the storms we were having and poor satellite connection but no issues with connection today and am having the same problem. I did go to "Thread Display Options" and requested "Show Threads from last month", clicked on "Show Threads" and got the same thing. I did this twice on both categories - same result. I logged out of the forums, logged back in again and it still happens. Everything is up to date on my end with Win 7 & Firefox.

    G'day Shesa!
I'm using Win 7 & Firefox without those problems.
    It must be something else?
I assume you've done all the normal cleanups & virus checks etc.
If it's not in your settings, then support may be able to assist.
    Cheers, Allen.

Yes, I'm up to date with my cleaning, updates, etc. Just renewed my Anti-virus subscription and it's never been "set off" by anything on eBid, prior to or since the renewal. The only thing on my computer "to do" list is to update my backup disk but that shouldn't have anything to do with viewing on a site - would it??

I went through every thread today, except for those under "Chat About Anything" and this is the complete list of threads that are not showing properly:

    eBid News & Announcements:
Forum: eBid Vacancies - showing 1 sticky (dated 20 Nov, 2015)

    Your Input & Comments:
    ALL showed up correctly

    Members Support Forums:
Forum: Auction Payment Facilities - showing 1 thread (dated yesterday 9/14/17)

Forum: Postage and Delivery - showing 1 sticky and 3 threads (oldest dated 30th July 2017)

Forum: Registration, Upgrading & Logging In - showing 2 stickys (oldest dated 13th August 2013)

Forum: Bidding & Buying - showing 2 stickys and 3 threads (oldest is dtd 29July 2017)

Forum: After the Auction - showing 1 sticky and 3 threads (oldest is 15 Aug 2017)

Forum: Feedback & Rating System - showing 1 sticky and 1 thread (dated 17 August 2017) I did a "test" to start new thread and it showed up with the sticky and other thread. I deleted the test thread and it goes back to 1 sticky and 1 thread.

Forum: Buddy Points & Affiliate Program - showing 2 stickys

I generally open each thread in a new window to keep track of where I'm at on the Main Forum page, so I tried clicking on each link directly from the main page and got the same results. I also tried refreshing the page both ways and that didn't help. Just rather odd and frustrating!

Yes, I see what you mean Shes.
I'm getting the same thing Gazza I'm Windows 7 / Chrome. It appears to be only the 'Members Support Forums' that are affected. I didn't notice it until Shes pointed it out as I usually use the new posts button.

If you go directly to the forums and click on one of the sections in the 'Members Support Forums' you only get a couple of threads showing. For example Members Support > Postage and Delivery > Threads 976 - is only showing 4 threads.

Ahhh, Becky!! Sooo nice to know I'm not the one gone wonky!!

eBid News & Announcements: Forum: eBid Vacancies is the only one outside of Members Support that I found - can you see all the posts there?

Right you are Shesa - my apologies!
I'm only seeing a few threads in each of all the "members help section." Shows you how often I go there!
All the other sections seem fine.

Gazza I've discovered it's something to do with the thread display options. Mine were set on 2 months. I tried 75 days and 100 days but nothing happened then when I tried 'last year' and 'beginning' all the threads came back.

Just editing to say that I've just gone back in to the ones I changed and they have defaulted back to the 2 month option with the missing threads again.

I have just checked and I have the same problem

    • Auction Payments - just my 2 threads.
    • Postage - 4 threads
    • Registration - 2 stickys
    • Bidding - 5 threads
    • After Auction - 4 threads
    • Feedback - 2 threads
    • Buddy Points - 2 threads

The only section that seems to be normal is Selling.

I also tried to increase from the preset 2 months but there was no change there either.

    Using Firefox and Windows 10

Are there any other O/S users out there who could have a look? From what I have seen there are only windows users comments on here.

which has a sticky from 2013. looks to me they have had a clear out.
