    Default dealing with osteoarthritis

Just got X-Ray confirmation of osteoarthritis in my shoulders to go with my worn hip several years ago. And typing with 4th and 5th fingers of my left hand is getting painful.

Any experience how to slow the progress?

Glucosamine is off the list because it is made from shellfish and I have an allergy.

That is one of my solutions - we go live in Thailand in a cheap self-catering flat for January and February. Avoid the worst of the winter.

My partner is passionate about turmeric, a teaspoon of powder is always added to rice when cooking. Also recommended as a tea for diabetics, and in US in Spring we came across turmeric and ginger tea which I loved.

I have applied to join the Facebook turmeric group, thanks for the information.

Another fan of turmeric here, too, and thanks to Annie for the links

The most effective thing I've ever found was CBD oil, extracted from hemp plants. I started taking it last fall, not too long after we started carrying it, and it literally got rid of pains I didn't realize I had. The pains I know about had just been drowning the others out. It took about a week for the initial relief to set in, within about 2.5 weeks it was helping pain I didn't think there was any help for....... and at 5 weeks I became allergic to it. Not a day goes by that I don't wonder if it would be worth taking massive amounts of antihistamine to be able to be pain free. If anyone wants to pm me, I'm happy to answer any questions but it's just gross to blab about my personal health stuff on a public thread. Far better to gross you out in the intimate confines of an inbox, LOL. I will say, my allergy experience is unusual but not unheard-of. Most people tolerate it well, and we also sell it to people who have used it successfully to control pain in dogs, cats, and horses.

The stuff I was taking was a water soluble CBD oil with less than 0.03% THC. I know you guys have Sativex in the UK, which is different to what I took, but you may also have CBD oil there.

Hope you find something that helps!
