Of course I wouldn't hand over my CC details to an unkown.
What I would like to know is, if a seller on eBid accepts credit/debit cards and not Paypal, how would they process the payment?

Yes, I know all that Sid.
We are discussing the OP and his seller who does not offer Paypal or Skrill or eBid's PPPayment.
If I notified the seller I would like to pay with my CC/DC via Paypal how would the seller respond?
How would he/she accept my CC/DC payment?

no your not discussing the op with me your discussing my point, your above post has nothing to do with my original point, the op said there looking for a safe method of payment ,there not interested in what the seller is offering they want a safe payment method which i have suggested thats a escrow service ,do you understand the buyer is not interested in what your debating , your points are pointless have you got that, who cares if the seller can or cant accept a card the buyer has said there not interested in a unsafe payment,

If he has access to a card payment machine.

My sister in law attends craft markets and has a card machine which works through the mobile network and also uses it to accept card payments on eBay without going through PayPal (there are bank charges to pay but she seems happy with this). Think it is only available on a business account.

The buyer must phone her to give details.

Enlighten me, Sid. What escrow payment methods does eBid offer. Is there some service that the boys have gotten involved in that hasn't yet reached this side of the pond? Over here escrow banks and services are fairly heavily regulated, has the eBid folks gotten into that sort of thing?
