Thread: First time auction deleted within 24 hours, then two more deleted. help!

  1. #1

Thumbs up [solved] First time auction deleted within 24 hours, then two more deleted. help!

Solved - After removing "ships to US only" and removing PayPal from the title my auction hasn't been deleted. I'm used to eBay where anything can go in the title and many buyers don't look beyond the picture and the title.

I just signed up for $49.99 and 3 of my auctions have been deleted within 24 hours of posting them! I just started with an auction at $0.01 for a silver dime to get started on the 2017-6-12. By noon the next day it was "deleted or closed more than 75 days ago ..." you know the message. Around 2PM CDT (GMT-5) I posted two more auctions for a silver dime and both have been deleted by 9PM here, about a half hour ago. No email about it, no messages that I know of. Nothing in the archive or closed auctions. Here are the links:

    https://www.ebid.net/us/for-sale/one...-158377558.htm

    My test auction: https://www.ebid.net/us/for-sale/tes...-158580477.htm

    https://www.ebid.net/us/for-sale/one...-158580492.htm

    https://www.ebid.net/us/for-sale/1-s...-158580904.htm

It's like somebody went in my account and deleted them. I deleted my test auction and these auctions are just like what happens when I view my test auction.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong and I'm being notified somehow but I don't know where to look to see the messages? But if they removed my listings wouldn't they make it so I could edit it and put it back?

Be careful starting auctions at a penny, because ebid doesn't get the bidding wars like the other sites. You can contact support at support@ebid.net they will be able to tell you why auctions were closed.

Listings with identical titles will be deleted as duplicates. If the items are identical they should be posted as a multi-item listing. If they are only similar the title should be made unique. Also, shipping and payment information should not be in the title.

Probably worth a read of the listing rules: https://www.ebid.net/us/help/selling-on-ebid#faq-29

Yes I know to be careful starting at $0.01, but it is worth less than $2 total so it's not a big deal. Thanks for the advice.

I wonder if they deleted my listing because I mentioned Bitcoin in the description? I read over the rules and I see that I shouldn't have mentioned shipping in the title or in the first 250 characters of the description. These restrictions are from Google, and even though my listings aren't on Google shopping maybe the deleted them anyway because of that? I would think they would tell me why it was removed.

Well here it is again. I removed anything that I thought could possibly cause a problem. edit: fixed link https://www.ebid.net/us/for-sale/1-u...-158592162.htm

On an unrelated subject, when you are at the preview stage for your auction, the the notice and the link to edit the auction is a broken link since the listing isn't submitted yet. I guess everyone lives with that?

I am not at all sure what you mean by that comment. I have been listing tonight and got the same as I always get. When reviewing the listing if I press the red "edit this listing" button I get taken to the page where I have prepared th listing (in my defaults). I also get taken to the same page when I select the edit button in a live listing.

If you get something else it should be reported to the support team.

Here is the message that I get just under the red < EDIT LISTING DETAILS and the green START LISTING > buttons. The underlined text is a link to edit the listing, but I believe that since the listing isn't submitted yet, clicking it gives the well known "closed 75 days ago ..." message. The exact text is:

Your Status : You are the seller of this item. No bids have yet been placed. Feel free to edit this listing to change your price, description or other details. You also have the option to close this listing, see the Seller Options below.

Make sure only describe the product in the title, shipping and payment promotions should be left to the description.

    Thx,

So now I have a question. Do the rules for listings, such as title and description content, differ depending on whether or not a particular listing is put on Google Shopping?
