I can imagine that might be the objective. Seems unlikely to be effective though.

    E.g.
Me: Hi, I wonder if you would do me a discount on a dozen of these?

Seller: Might be possible, it would depend on the colour combinations. Give me a ring on 07777 123456.

I think the question and reply are visible in the listing.

Yes, they are. But my point is that the policy doesn't prevent such an exchange, and after that the two parties can discuss a deal privately (by phone) and even do a deal off ebid.

Hence my statement "Seems unlikely to be effective though.".

im surprised the long standing members have not told you this, if you want questions removing from your listing, you blackball the "asker" you then have two tick options to remove bids and remove questions, once you have enabled this depending on the use of ticks the job is done, if you dont want the asker permanently blocked then go back to the black ball page and unblack ball them. the black ball option you can see on your ebid page.

Sorry Sid, but I'm not sure to whom you're addressing this. I'm aware of how to do it, but I consider the process to be somewhat awkward. If you're replying to the jsnpepe, I'm not sure they know it though.
