My sympathies to all those affected by the despicable act in Manchester!

Would like to say much more, but not while the investigations are ongoing.

It's a sad day when our troops have to be deployed to protect our cities.

My heartfelt sympathy to the people of Manchester who have lost loved ones or have family members injured.

The troops are not being deployed to protect our cities. They are relieving armed police from their usual guard duties (e.g. embassies) so that those police can, in turn, be redeployed to bolster policing within the community.

O.K. they are being depolyed to protect public buildings 'in' cities ... same difference !!! I'm very pleased that they are doing this to help the police, just very sad about the circumstances that has given our country the reason to take this action.
